| Statement
My purse is modeled on a traditional money bag. It uses the colors of a dollar bill: silver, green, black and white and the strings carry quotes about women’s growing economic power. Women in many countries and cultures are increasingly responsible for the “purse strings” in the family, for example: •American women control almost $4 trillion in annual consumer spending. •58% of women baby boomers have less than $10,000 saved in a pension or 401K. •Single women make up the second-largest group of home buyers. •Women purchase nearly two out of every three cars, control 50% of U.S. wealth and take 50% of all business trips. •Across Asia, 80% of household purchase decisions are made by women. I hope viewers will enjoy this commentary on women’s changing role in the world.
