Statement

In thinking about Japanese gardens and how much beauty they reflect, I chose to create a midnight blue coat, with the Asian fabrics in my stash. In keeping with the seemingly more geometric design of Asian art, I chose to use a very traditional patchwork block, called Log Cabin, as it emulates those design concepts.

I’ve also added depth to my design through the use of dimensional embellishment and bead work. To complete the outfit, I made a matching hat.
