| Statement
In 2000, my sister had surgery and I went to
Most afternoons, the neighbors were
sitting on the porch when we returned. They told us they were watching the
moonflowers bloom. What a pleasant way to welcome the night. I have wanted
to make something with moonflowers ever since.
The outer fabric is a purchased hand
dyed cotton, underlined with china silk. The moonflowers are made of
polyester crepe. The leaves and stems are batik. The lining is silk.
