Statement

“We are stardust, we are golden
And we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.”
—Joni Mitchell

In the very big picture of TIME, we are indeed stardust.

“Every ingredient in the human body is made from
elements forged by stars. So are all of the building blocks of our food, your bike and your electronics. Similarly, every rock, plant, animal, scoop of seawater and breath
of air owes its existence to distant suns.”
—Catherine Pilachowski, Astronomer, Indiana University

“We are in a constant state of decay and regeneration. Everything we are and everything in the universe and on Earth originated from stardust, and it continues to float over us today. It connects us to the universe, rebuilding our bodies over and again over our lifetimes.
—Karel & Iris Schrijver (senior fellow at the Lockheed Martin Solar and Astrophysics

Laboratory and professor of Pathology at Stanford University respectively)

Go outside at night more often, look UP at the starry sky, and ponder at our universal connection to each other across our shared earthly home.

Art-work was largely inspired by a recent trip to Africa where the connection to the land, the animals (including humans) and the stars affected me deeply.
